This podcast is about entrepreneurship, spirituality, and self-care. My name is Lourdes, and I am the host of this show. Thank you for listening today!
Have you thought about how to choose the right webinar hosting for your business or for you? Well, in today’s episode, I’m gonna talk about the many different factors to consider, such as cost, features, and compatibility with your existing systems. There are so many different types of webinar hosting platforms out there today, that if you’re new to webinars it can be a daunting experience. So, let’s go ahead and start.
So first, we’re gonna determine our budget. So, when you’re selecting a hosting platform, it’s important to determine your budget. Webinar platforms can range in price from free to several hundred dollars per month, and it depends on the features you’re looking for and the support that they provide. And if you’re a new business owner, an individual on a tight budget, you might want to consider a free or low-cost platform such as LiveWebinar and some others that I will list down below. These platforms offer basic features, and are suitable for hosting small webinars with a limited number of attendees. But, if you have a larger budget and plan on hosting larger webinars with more advanced features, you might want to consider a paid platform such as WebinarJam or GoToWebinar, or Zoom Webinars. These platforms offer a wider range of features and support for larger webinars, but they come with a higher price tag.
Okay, so now that you’ve sat down and determined how much money you have to spend on a webinar platform, let’s think about some of the features. Do you need live streaming capabilities? So, live streaming would be going to YouTube and Facebook while you’re having a live webinar. It’s particularly useful if you have a large number of attendees, or if you want to reach a global audience.
Second feature, recording capabilities. Some of the platforms are automatically recording your webinars, some don’t, so this is something to consider.
Okay, so do you want audience engagement? If you do, you might want to look at a feature that’s interactive, which means you can post Q&A question sessions, you can put in polls and surveys, and this allows your attendees to engage with your content and provide you some valuable feedback.
And, how important is branding for you? Some features allow you to upload your own logo, change the colors that match your branding, and change the fonts. Some people don’t mind, they don’t mind that at all, they just want to put their registration link and go with the flow, and many people do that.
Okay, the other thing to think about is integrating with your other systems. So if you use other systems, such as e-mail marketing software or a CRM system, you’ll want to choose a platform that integrates with these systems. It’ll save you time, and make things easier for you to manage your webinars.
But, before you make your decision, you’ll want to read some reviews and ask for recommendations. You want to look at the pros and cons of each platform. So try to pick out the top three that you like, and do the pros and cons, and that will give you a better understanding of what you’re looking for. You can also read reviews on websites such as Capterra or TrustRadius. Ask for recommendations from colleagues or industry peers who have hosted webinars in the past.
And then finally, once you decide which platform you want to go with, maybe two or three of them, contact each one of those hosting platforms and ask for a demo to see how easy it is for you to work with. And if you have any other questions, you can ask them during the demonstration.
And there you have it, things to think about before choosing the webinar hosting platform for you. I hope this was helpful. And if you have any questions, please do not hesitate to contact me. Have a great day! And join me next week, when I talk about how to create a speech outline for webinar speakers or public speakers.
