The 8th Level Podcast is about being self-employed, entrepreneurship, and managing our online business. It’s also about connecting to our souls, having the right mindset, and self-care. My name is Lourdes, and I am the host of this show. Thank you for listening to this episode today!

Are you overthinking things? Is your overworked mind spinning in a spiral of confusion? Your mind needs to calm down so you can get clear of your thoughts to get clarity. But, what is clarity, you ask? Clarity is a clear understanding of what is, or making something that is easy to understand. Many years ago, when I was in jewelry sales, I had to learn about diamonds. So I took a course that took months to complete, and I passed the test to become a certified diamontologist. Yes, there is such a thing as a certified diamontologist! You’re probably wondering why I bring up diamonds. Well you see, in diamonds, there are a few things that people kinda know about, and it is the 4 Cs. So I will explain how diamonds are formed, and what they contain, and how I compare it to finding clarity.

So, it took millions of years for a diamond to form, and it’s almost made out of carbon. All of it. When miners mine the diamonds, they are not clear in color or in clarity. When people shop for diamonds, most good salespeople will explain to them or to the customer what to look for in a good diamond to give to your loved one. They call this the 4 Cs, and those are Cut, Clarity, Color, and Carat. Clarity is the word I’m gonna focus on today. It takes millions of years for diamonds to form. Since diamonds were formed under many levels of the Earth’s crust, diamonds can contain blemishes and inclusions. Inclusions are small imperfections in a diamond. The skilled diamond cutter knows that he must carefully examine the raw diamond, and remove or cut around the inclusions he sees, reshape it and make facets, and polishes it. The finished product is a beautiful diamond piece that has fire and brilliance. Now, in comparison to the diamond cutter, that’s exactly what we are doing when we’re getting clarity. We must remove these inclusions that’s upon us, we must examine our mind, and go within our soul for our brilliance to shine.

Now speaking of your mind, you were born an innocent, cute little baby. As you grew into adulthood, your life was filled with many experiences. At times, you probably had emotional ups and downs. Sometimes you felt happy, sometimes you felt hurt, sometimes you even had some disappointments and some beliefs. You may have had issues when you were growing up in school, or maybe at work. These painful negative experiences sometimes becomes an emotional stain. So if you have not resolved any of your past issues, it may block your ability from moving forward to reach a goal. Whether it’s personal business, these issues or complex that resonate today in your mind are examples of what I call inclusions. You need to go within to sort these out. Just exactly how do you sort these out, and how do you get clarity? Well, it starts with your thoughts and emotions. Two very powerful things that only you possess. No one can do this for you, just like no one else can do your physical exercise for you to get fit. You will need to do the clarity on your part.

The best way to get mental clarity is to stop mentally overthinking things right now. So instead, write it down. Write everything that is going through your mind. Write it in a notebook, or use a journal and just let it go. Write it down, everything you’re feeling and thinking. If swearing helps you when you write, then include those bad words, get it outta your system! Nobody will see this notebook, only you will see this notebook, so go ahead and swear if you like! Now answer any or all of these questions that you can relate to, and write down as much details as possible in your notebook, okay? Let’s see, what is going on right now? What are you confused about? Are you mad at someone, and why? Are you remembering something from you past? Are you going through some anxiety? You know, separation anxiety? Sometimes you might even feel anxious about your future. Are you feeling conflicted about making a choice? What are you fearful of? If you’re in business, what are you conflicted about? When you take time to write those things, make sure you have it on paper, and then when you’re done, put your paper and your pen down, and you put your notebook away. Go for a walk, listen to music, let it go, meditate, pray, let it go. Take a break. During this break, be mindful of your thoughts. Don’t cut yourself down or blame you or anyone else for anything. Instead, try to focus on your breath and move on. Do not dwell on your thoughts. Breathe in deeply, and exhale slowly. [Example breath] Do this a few times, and focus on your breathing. Okay, so after a day or two has passed, look at your notes. Do you have a different perspective on it? Ask yourself, did any of those fears come true? Sometimes, we just need to sit back, breathe deeply, and a solution comes in our heads. Sometimes, we just need to sit back, breathe deeply, and a solution may come into our mind. Other times, you may need to talk to someone that can help you sort these things out. You might just need a little guidance right now, and it’s okay, it’s alright. We all do at some point in our life. If you need help with this, let me know, send me a quick message.

I hope that this small tip about sorting your thoughts and writing it in your notebook helped with you getting clarity.
